Named in honor of Louise Thaden, a pioneering aviator who was born and raised in Bentonville, Thaden School opened in the fall of 2017 and will grow incrementally over the next few years to serve approximately 550-650 students in grades 6-12. The school now seeks a Communications Manager to support its communications and marketing efforts on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities Reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement, the Communications Manager will organize and support all aspects of the School’s communications and marketing efforts. The Communications Manager will undertake the following responsibilities: • Collaborating with school leadership to write and distribute internal and external newsletters; • Overseeing print and electronic media, including press releases, advertising in local and national relocation and educational guides, website content, and day to day contact with news media; • Creating and implementing a social media marketing plan (with technical assistance from video and photography personnel); • Coordinating the creation and ordering of all branded merchandise for students, faculty, parents, donors, and other members of the Thaden community; • Working with school leadership team to ensure that school events have appropriate marketing support, including invitations, collateral, and photos for sharing via appropriate digital channels; • Working with Director of Finance and Operations and the Director of Institutional Advancement to create and manage the school’s marketing budget; • Performing other duties in support of the School mission as determined by the Director of Institutional Advancement.
Experience and Other Qualifications • Strong communication and organizational skills, including exceptional writing skills, and facility with media of all forms (social, print, broadcast, etc.); • Experience in marketing, communications, and/or community outreach; • Ability to connect with a variety of people and constituencies (e.g., faculty, parents, donors); • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and deliver work on time, with careful attention to detail and accuracy; • Commitment to the school’s mission, especially its indexed tuition program; • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe InDesign, as well as website platforms and content management systems (Blackbaud, Sendible, etc.) required; • Bachelor’s degree required; • Criminal background check and clearance required.
