As User Experience Developer, you will report to the Director of Digital Media and collaborate closely with the Web Developers and departments across the organization to design, build, refine and deploy frontend digital products ranging from websites (wamu.org, dcist.com, the1a.org and others) to voice controlled applications and email newsletters. Your responsibilities will evolve over time, but you will cast a vision for design practices and remain a steadfast advocate for user-centered design.
The User Experience Developer joins a growing technology team to support WAMU’s commitment to user-centered design and audience demand for frictionless, intuitive user interfaces. The position casts a vision for design practices across a suite of digital products and is a hands-on, collaborative participant in the implementation of this vision.

Associate's degree or equivalent
2-4 years of relevant experience
A portfolio highlighting previous design and web development work
Fluency in software development processes and methodologies as well as internet-based development tools
Familiarity with modern software engineering concepts
Hands-on experience with WordPress theming
Experience with version control, such as GIT
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
