You will work closely with other members of the team to promote Michigan Medicine through content marketing, social media, and online storytelling. You will develop, research and write stories, blog posts and news announcements for distribution directly to the public, social media audiences and to news media.
Developing, researching and writing content for online and print materials
Responding quickly to inquiries from reporters, locating expert sources and arranging interviews in collaboration with senior team members.
Arranging, planning and directing visits of media, photographers, TV crews, including accompanying them in all Michigan Medicine facilities, protecting patient privacy.
You will participate and assist in setting strategy for Michigan Medicine clients including brainstorming sessions about content creation, upcoming blogs and coordinating efforts among team members.

Develop content for social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest to share stories about Health System clinical care, research and educational efforts that build and spread engagement with patients, families and others seeking expert and authoritative health information.
Preparing faculty and staff for media interviews in collaboration with senior team members.
Rotating on-call duties twice per quarter.
Less than one to three years of combined editing, writing, content creation, and social media experience or comparable experience;
Undergraduate degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field.
Working knowledge of and experience with and search engine optimization (SEO) techniques and best practices.
Ability to work with diverse team members to achieve shared goal.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and familiarity with AP style necessary;
Passion for social communications, innovation, branding, and promotions;
Experience working collaboratively to set goals, implement projects, and assess success;
Demonstrated success in communicating and creating in the social space;
Accustomed to the strategic use of social platforms for brand awareness, reputation management, and customer service;
Feel confident working in a multi-layered organization with complex reporting relationships
Ability to produce high-quality work on deadline and handle several projects at once;
Ability to take both direction and initiative
Skilled multi-tasker, excellent listener, and deeply organized
