Department/College Description The NTID Communications, Marketing & Multimedia Services team leads marketing communication efforts for NTID, using a collaborative, results-oriented approach. We provide innovative solutions to marketing communications challenges, developing strategic, market-focused, creative communications that help achieve goals and support RIT/NTIDs brand and major areas of focus.

NTID's Photographic Media Specialist creates engaging, impactful, and brand-focused imagery to serve the marketing, news, and archival photography needs of the college. This involves working in a creative, fast-paced, high-volume environment on projects that include portrait, studio, product, location and event photography, and the preparation of digital files for a variety of media, including print, web, social media, and presentation graphics. Also maintains supplies and equipment, and hires, trains and supervises student assistants.
This position reports to the Director of Public Relations and Technology Transfer in NTID's Communications, Marketing and Multimedia Services Department and works with cross-functional partners, including, marketers, designers, writers, web developers, social media managers, and other communications experts.
Must maintain knowledge of current and upcoming industry trends in photography and pursue continual skills enhancement in photography and media technology.
Occasional evening and weekend work required.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in photography, multimedia, new media, media arts and technology or related field
Minimum of one to three years photography experience.
Artistic and design skillsability to compose and frame a shot, understand color and lighting.
Creativity and innovationability to tell a story through images.
Ability to interact with photographic subjects. Must be able to put people at ease, communicate with them and make them feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera.
Good understanding of professional photography equipment not limited to cameras, lenses and lights.
Good understanding of professional lighting techniques in the studio environment and on location.
Ability to supervise student assistants.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
Good attention to detail.
Proficiency in sign language or the ability to achieve proficiency within three years of hire.
