Oversee photography, video and multimedia efforts, including the coordination of contractors and students as resources and subject matter experts.
Coordinate projects which may include consulting with customers, budgeting, supervising work, materials design, vendor communications and management of deadlines.
Report to the Infrastructure Planning and Facilities (IPF) Communications and Learning Manager.
Be responsible for strategy development and creation of all visual communications materials for the IPF unit, including specialty publications and materials and other marketing collateral as needed to promote IPF and MSU-level initiatives and services.
Ensure compliance with MSU- and IPF-level branding, licensing and web accessibility standards and will oversee brand management in all areas.
Research trends in print and online visual communications and recommend solutions, as well as profiling audiences and recommending audience-based approaches.
Assist with website and intranet visual design and development.
Prepare files for vendor printing.
Pursue training, appropriate certifications and other professional development opportunities to actively build skills and remain up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
Research and analyze information and data for decision making and recommendations.
Prepare reports and designs presentations.
Develop and maintains positive relationships internal and external to IPF.
Serve on committees or conduct meetings related to communications projects/topics.
Engage in High Performance, leading edge practices, which are Innovative in their approach to increased Stewardship and Service Excellence.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Communications, Journalism, Telecommunications, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, or related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in public and media relations, composing, editing and publication production using AP Style; news and print media, and/or marketing, advertising, and creative services; graphic design; photo and video production; desktop publishing; web design; public presentation; communication plans including social media strategy; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier, AfterEffects)
Knowledge/experience with MSU brand standards, licensing requirements, web accessibility standards, policies, practices and environment
Experience with website content management systems
Experience in marketing, advertising and public/media relations
Experience with printer and vendor relations and negotiations
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to stay on task and meet deadlines
Good customer relations/service skills
Ability to work as an effective member of a team or independently
