Our Office of the President is seeking a skilled Executive Communications Writer/Coordinator. In this new role, you will bring together the vision and the guiding principles of leadership for a variety of audiences. As a member of the Executive Communications team, you will work in close partnership with the Office of the President, the Office of the Provost, and the Division of Marketing and Communications to execute on aligned messaging for key initiatives and strategic priorities.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Supporting the development and preparation of remarks and talking points, reports, presentations, statements, daily correspondence and other written materials in connection with speaking engagements or other activities or initiatives within the Office of the President, and for other executives as assigned.
Collaborating in a team environment to contribute to the development and execution of communications that support the goals of leadership, with research, writing, editing, and consultation across a wide range of offices and individuals.
Partnering with social media account coordinator(s) to ensure an aligned voice for the President and/or Provost.
Supporting leadership with communications efforts related to priority areas for students, faculty and staff.
Translating complex concepts into clear, compelling language for audiences ranging from students, staff, and faculty to government agencies and corporate organizations.
Discretely address sensitive and/or delicate assignments, exercising sound editorial discernment and maintaining the trust and confidence of the president, provost, senior executives and their staff.

Due to the nature of the role, you should be able to travel and willing to work outside of normal business hours.

Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications or business or other relevant field required; Master's degree preferred. Education and training will be considered in lieu of experience.
Minimum eight years of communications experience; experience in professional writing, speech writing, and/or technical writing preferred. Experience in higher education desired.
