This position will serve as the Parent Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Livingston County and will deliver parenting education classes for both voluntary and referred adult participants. This position coordinates and delivers established CCE approved evidence-based parent education programs both on-site and off-site in accordance with the Family & Consumer Science Program Area's plan of work. Under the guidance of program leadership, the position will support the Supervisor with the coordination of the FACS Advisory Committee.
This position is Temporary with varying weekly hours up to a maximum of 15 hours per week.
Bachelor's Degree and one year related experience. Associate's Degree and three years transferrable experience is acceptable.

Demonstrated ability to plan, teach and evaluate formal evidence-based educational programs through a variety of delivery methods to reach individuals and groups.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through oral, written and visual means.
Demonstrated ability to function as a team member working with volunteers and staff.
Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position. Reliable means of transportation to work site and a valid driver's license as driving may be required to travel to program delivery locations and to attend events and/or regional meetings.
Ability to meet acceptable background check and motor vehicle record standards.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and/or weekends, as needed.
2-3 years working with adults in an educational or counseling setting.
1-2 years youth development experience.
1 year experience working with volunteers and volunteer management.
Demonstrated ability to utilize computer technologies for educational and communication purposes.

Program Delivery 80%
Deliver existing parent education evidence-based curricula to include, but not limited to: Active Parenting, Parenting Skills Workshop, etc.
Provide training to new and existing Volunteers.
Under the direction and oversight of program leadership, occasionally apply existing subject matter knowledge to create lessons plans to deliver educational program.
Provide input in planning the structure of delivering educational programs via various methods
Assist in teaching innovative educational programs when grant-funded opportunities arise.
Deliver established educational programs as defined utilizing a variety of proven educational methodologies.
Foster acceptance of program, methods, and policies to address community and individual needs and consider diverse audiences.
Serve as a subject matter resource in related disciplines.
Provide standard responses and assist as needed in providing moderately complex nonstandard responses.
Interact effectively with program participants and volunteers to provide programming and support.
Represent CCE before the public, community leaders, government officials, Cornell or other land grant universities as part of program delivery.
May be involved in multidisciplinary team efforts within the Association or regionally to deliver program.
May assist in ensuring that program delivery is within scope of the statewide Plan of Work.
Assist supervisor and/or Executive Director with volunteer oversight.
Program Evaluation 10 %
Implement program evaluation as designed.
Interact with various constituencies to obtain their evaluation of programs and communicate evaluation results and findings with stakeholders.
May assist in designing evaluation framework, analyzing collected program evaluation data and in making recommendations for improvements.

Organize and coordinate events related to the parent education program (i.e. childcare, food, collaborating agencies.).
Assist in the planning and scheduling of parenting classes and related outreach.
Coordinate identified administrative aspects of parenting program to include, but not be limited to: inventory of supplies, marketing, etc.
Initiate and maintain effective professional relationships with other agencies, organizations and businesses that promote effective communication to facilitate continued programming efforts.
Provide moderately complex administrative tasks to support the delivery of established educational program goals.
Provide low complexity limited tasks to plan the educational program and implement the program budget; submit program related expense receipts in a timely manner per procedure.
Assist in utilizing effective marketing strategies in the promotion of programming efforts to include, but not limited to: print media, news media, social media, and multi-media efforts.
This position will require travel and the transport of program materials and resources in performing position responsibilities.
