This position within Online Platforms (Division of Marketing and Communications) will join a team of back-end/front-end web developers, systems administrators/platform architects, and an information architect to host, secure, and maintain the central web presence of Syracuse University.
The Platform Architect will work in collaboration with the Senior Platform Architect to assist in securely architecting and maintaining the hosting platforms responsible for serving and supporting the public marketing web presence for Syracuse University. This responsibility includes but is not limited to the Home site (https://www.syracuse.edu/), Syracuse News product, campus-wide Event Calendar product, and several of the school or college top-level sites. This position works closely with both front-end and back-end developers to provide and support them with development and QA mirrored environments for ongoing product development and testing. Additionally, the Platform Architect works with central IT’s UNIX, virtual enterprise technology, and information security teams to leverage the University’s Virtual Hosting Environment (VHE) for server operations and monitor emerging security threats, responding to vulnerability reports.
