Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Edit/Media Specialist II Editor for Rutgers' News and Media Relations. This position reports to the assistant director of social media strategy in the Office of University News and Media Relations, Department of University Communications and Marketing. The Edit/Media Specialist II Editor produces photos, videos and other content for social media; assists with the management and monitoring of the university's social media channels; and assists with working with student employees and interns on social media content.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Creates photos, videos, graphics and other content for universitywide social media channels that drive engagement and build pride.
Assists assistant director of social media strategy with planning platform-specific content for each social media channel.
Assists with the management, post scheduling and monitoring of universitywide social media accounts.
Supports assistant director of social media strategy in working with student employees and interns to plan and create content for social media channels.
Collaborates with editorial team members to plan and develop content for social media.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communication, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of two years of experience creating and monitoring social media content for social media channels including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Video-editing and photo-editing skills
Proficiency with a variety of camera equipment, Adobe Creative Suite, and other related software.
Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position.
Photography and videography experience; photo-, video and copy-editing skills; proficiency in use of photo and video equipment, DSLR cameras, lighting systems
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and current graphic design trends
Experience managing social media platforms and using social media tools such as Hootsuite
Experience with content management systems, Drupal a plus
Lifting up to 25 lbs. Office environment with moderate noise
Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to use personal vehicle for university business.
