The Digital Communicator plays a key role in developing and executing the Law College’s communication plan, with a special focus relating to the college’s social media and email marketing strategies. Works closely with team members and clients to create and distribute accurate, high-quality content through a wide range of channels.
Creates email marketing content for various departments within the Law College (primarily Advancement and Admissions)
Develops and executes strategy for institutional social media
Creates assorted types of digital content (videos, graphic work)
Monitors mentions of the Law College on social media channels and engages with the public on behalf of the institution as needed
Optimizes digital communications through use of A/B testing, analytics, etc.
Experiments with new forms of media
Keeps calendar of email marketing for primary clients (Admissions and Advancement)
Regularly updates content on the Law College’s Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites
Studies and adheres to various policies and standards set by the University’s Office of Communications and Brand Strategy
Researches and writes articles for the Law College’s magazine
Writes, edits, fact-checks, and formats digital content
Assists in the development of electronic and print materials in support of Law College symposia and events
Develops specialized digital communications plans for other units as requested
Recommends web development and technology enhancements for the unit
Creates, drafts releases and feature materials for media and publications in order to inform the public and University of issues and events
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Journalism, Telecommunications, or Public Relations; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in public and media relations, composing, editing and publication production, news, broadcasting, and print media, and/or marketing, advertising, and creative services; graphic design; word processing; desktop publishing; web design; presentation; spreadsheet and/or database software; public presentation; or radio production; or computer programming/technology; experience managing content for social media channels; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of basic office practices, procedures and equipment.
Comfortable in iMovie and the Adobe Creative Suite.
