The Alumni and Development Digital Communications Manager will inspire, inform, and engage the UC Santa Cruz alumni community and others via innovative social new media and digital strategies and writing support for fundraising efforts.
The candidate will lead the creation of alumni and development marketing digital communications as a member of the Strategic Engagement team at UC Santa Cruz. Under the supervision of the Director of Strategic Engagement, and in collaboration with the alumni engagement team, the development communications team, and the content creators in Communications and Marketing, the Manager will develop an integrated marketing communications plan that advances the university's efforts to engage alumni, volunteers, donors, and community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for exploring and sharing digital media, a strong affinity for higher education and the UC Santa Cruz mission, and should be a creative, critical thinker.
The Manager is a sharp editor who will create content and develop a voice for UC Santa Cruz Alumni social media communities on all relevant platforms, incorporating wit, without sacrificing accuracy or a piece's integrity.
The Manager will also support development communication needs in collaboration with the Communications & Marketing development writer to help advance the university's fundraising priorities. This may include researching, writing, and editing development content such as philanthropy profiles, case statements, Web marketing content, reports, news releases, and other materials in support of fundraising efforts directed to private and corporate donors.
This role will create and curate digital content for the alumni web site and related sites. The Manager will also be responsible for alumni marketing and communications materials related to programs and events, including newsletters, event invitations, calendars, and advertisements, keying into overall marketing strategy and maintaining a consistent and meaningful brand message. The Manager will actively monitor and measure the impact of engagement efforts and recommend adjustments as necessary. The candidate will also perform other related duties.
