Position will serve as editorial specialist and project coordinator providing overall editorial, graphic, and project management for the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience including assisting department faculty members with grant proposal development and editing; providing copy editing for grammar, style, consistency, and word choice; formatting to agency guidelines; and suggesting commentary on the content and flow of the proposal. Candidate will consult with individual investigators to strengthen grant proposals through improved writing, design, and use of University resources and will build and maintain a library of materials needed during the grant writing process. Candidate will also be the Managing Editor of the Journal of Neuroimmune Pharmacology (JNIP). Managing Editor, Journal of Neuroimmune Pharmacology: (E)
-Work directly with the Editor-in-Chief, Senior Editors and Section Editors of journal to ensure timely publications of all issues. -Work directly with the journal publisher Springer to ensure promotion of journal. -Work directly with authors and editors to edit manuscripts for clarity, grammar and punctuation, and continuity. -Responsible for annual Editorial Board Meeting; working with publisher and Society on NeuroImmune Pharmacology Journal Publication Committee.
