The George Mason University Volgenau School of Engineering's Office of Graduate Admissions and Enrollment Services invites applications for a full-time position as a Graduate Communications Coordinator. The incumbent will report to the Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment. The Graduate Communications Coordinator position involves responsibility for the creation and roll out of marketing materials for graduate studies programs in the Volgenau School of Engineering. This includes overseeing and managing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool with its communication plans, developing written content, integration of videos, and working with various communications and marketing projects, both within teams and independently. The Coordinator will set up filters, reports, and campaigns to effectively communicate with prospective students at each stage of the admission lifecycle. The Coordinator is also expected to write content for event campaigns, write and update web content for the Volgenau School Graduate Admissions webpages, track communication statistics and broadcasts through the CRM, and use Google Analytics to track web traffic. Familiarity with the range of social media platforms is an asset. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience;
Outstanding communication skills;
Demonstrated customer service experience;
Highly organized with great attention to detail;
Ability to work independently and in teams;
Ability to take initiative and complete projects and/or assignments with minimal supervision;
Strong analytical skills with proven, effective application of those ideas into procedures;
Flexibility and willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours;
Willingness to assist with recruitment activities outside of normal business hours and occasional weekends;
Willingness to assist with administrative tasks to include phone calls, emails, and walk-ins;
Demonstrated experience writing and developing creative and compelling marketing content; and
Ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Demonstrated experience in creating and editing web content;
Demonstrated experience in creating and editing event campaigns;
Knowledge of Salesforce/TargetX or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems;
Working knowledge of social media; and
Prior admissions or related experience.
