The Communications and Digital Media Specialist is responsible for creating internal and external communications for Regional Medical Center (RMC) including press releases, media advisories, employee communications, coordination of website content and social media, and coordination of virtual and physical events.
What You Will Do
Assist with implementing comprehensive communications and public relations strategies and tactics using an integrated mix of digital and traditional media channels.
Develop press releases and media advisories.
Identify news story opportunities that advance Regional Medical Center's reputation and that garner earned media in traditional and digital channels.
Plan and coordinate all activities related to press events including script writing, speaker invitations, media attendance, A/V needs.
Support external, internal and virtual events with script writing, talking points, A/V set up and other support as needed.
Monitor RMC's social media sites; write and coordinate social media posts, develop and maintain social media content calendar; track and report engagement on social media sites.
Writes, develops and produces multi-format content for RMC's web site.
Facilitates photo shoots and videography.
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of experience that includes pitching media stories, planning and coordinating press conferences and events, and writing internal and external communications. Two (2) years of experience related to the development and management of online and social media content. Excellent communication and A/P style writing skills required. Journalism degree preferred. Healthcare experience a plus.
