The Foster School of Business has an outstanding opportunity for a Web Content Producer.
The Web Content Producer, under the direction of the Director of Marketing Operations and working closely with the web team, is responsible for producing content for the Foster School of Business website, intranet, e-newsletters, social media outlets and other electronic communications to reach key Foster School stakeholders and the business community. The ideal candidate will recognize the importance of web content and realize that quality content (descriptions, pictures and graphics) is the single most important requirement to having a quality website. He or she will also have a good understanding of the elements that characterize great user experiences and be adept at translating business needs into technical and content solutions.
The ideal candidate should be flexible, quick-thinking, energetic, efficient, and able to work independently and collaboratively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills are a must, as this position requires interacting with other staff throughout the Foster School as well as some students, alumni, and friends of the school.
Candidates should have demonstrated success in packaging stories, photos, audio and video from multiple sources. Candidates should enjoy innovating and be comfortable blending exclusive, original and aggregated material and user-generated content to create a compelling site that engages users and encourages repeat visits.
Responsibilities: •Monitor the daily queue of minor web change requests and actively produce and promote content on the school’s website following content plans and editorial calendars developed with the Marketing & Communications team and internal clients. Typical activities include producing feature stories, faculty research summaries, news articles, blog posts, magazine articles, and other content. •Work closely with the web team to develop, test, and maintain new content models interactive content. •Regularly advise academic departments, centers and programs about content improvements and changes, providing web analytics reports and analyses. •Team participation, meetings, research.
Lead Responsibilities: •Monitor the daily queue of minor web change requests and produce and promote content changes and new content on the school’s website and social media outlets following content plans and guidelines developed by the online Marketing & Communications team in support of academic departments, programs, and centers •Collaborate with directors, content creators, subject matter experts, and developers to define, develop, and deploy compelling user experiences •Execute reports and analyses on a regular basis to inform online strategy •Contribute to a culture of innovation and teamwork with measurable positive results
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Informatics, Business, or related. A minimum 2-years experience with web content, program coordination and management, marketing.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum requirements.
Desired Qualifications: •Experience with and ability to use content management tools, specifically Wordpress and Google Analytics •Understanding of and experience with common web development tools •Demonstrated communications skills, including online editing and writing skills •Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others •Strong interest in web-based communications and knowledge of web editing skills •Strong organizational skills, initiative, creativity and resourcefulness •Ability to perform as an effective team member while handling independent projects and responsibilities with minimal supervision •Demonstrated passion for creating a world-class customer-facing user experience and have a desire to develop creative ideas, concepts, and new ways of doing things •Experience working in higher education
