Discover The Palm Beaches is seeking an experienced and accomplished social media professional to become our new Manager, Social Media. The Manager, Social Media is a highly creative, technically savvy marketer with big ideas responsible for ongoing management and growth of Discover The Palm Beaches’ (DTPB) social media presence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborates with Director, Public Relations and Social Media, as well as other cross-function teams, to develop creative content, analyze engagement and convert social media community members to visitors of The Palm Beaches.
Plans and executes digital influencer engagement programs that leverage advocates via content and partnerships, including FAMS and individual collaborations – both paid and organic.
Serves as the full-time online community manager for Discover The Palm Beaches’ social channels
Develops and executes an ongoing publishing calendar of proactive B2B and B2C content for DTPB’s portfolio of social media channels that mixes core brand messaging, marketing campaigns, partner and company news and topical conversation points.
Collaborates and creates compelling social media content, including multi-media materials and video, to engage our community utilizing the brand voice.
Participates in and leads regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success, ranging from Twitter chats, Facebook promotions, LinkedIn articles, giveaways, etc.
Monitors and responds to posts and inquiries in a timely manner.
Grows the social following and engagement in our key target markets.
Works cross-functionally as a social media advocate, ensuring social is thoughtfully factored into partnerships, experiences and campaigns.
Supports oversight of social media representation agencies, currently in three international countries.
Develops new social media strategies with the appropriate business cases, budgets, projects and plans
Remains abreast of latest social media trends and tools to keep DTPB on the cutting edge of content delivery and measurement.
Collaborates with advertising team on paid social initiatives leveraged via integrated campaigns.
Monitors effective benchmarks (best practices) for measuring campaigns; analyzes, reviews and reports effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
Leads the development of social media training content to advance the education of the organization on how to appropriately amplify the brand’s presence on social platforms.
Oversees and recommends appropriate budgets for social media campaigns, ensuring costs are aligned to yearly budgets.
Provides regular reporting of key social media metrics
Performs social media audits within the destination and with key Destination Marketing Organizations to benchmark performance.
Manages specific contracts which support Social Media and Influencer initiatives.
Collaborates with other hospitality destination organizations (i.e. hotel and resorts) to mutually enhance our social media presence
Attends various destination events including grand openings, press events, organizational meetings, local FAM trips, Influencer visits, as needed.
Collaborates with other Tourism Development Council Agencies
Supports other endeavors / projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, advertising, journalism or hospitality required
3+ years of social media experience with strategy development and tactical execution in a corporate environment with consumer-facing channels/messages
Active and well-rounded personal presence in social media, with a command of each network and their best practices
Strong project management and organizational skills
Passion for creating innovative and engaging social experiences
Team Player and Collaborator
Ability to be detail-oriented in a multi-tasking production environment
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Experience leading paid social campaigns and promotions
Experience in social media strategy, execution, metrics and asset development
Ability to recommend and develop associated budgets on-time and on-specification
Travel and Tourism / Hospitality experience is a plus

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work for the Manager, Social Media does require monitoring and engagement on weekends and during the evenings, with some business travel.
