The George Mason University Office of Admissions is conducting a search for a self-motivated, team-oriented individual for the ADVANCE Admissions Coordinator position. About the Position:
The primary responsibility for this position is to recruit and enroll undergraduate students to Mason in the ADVANCE program. ADVANCE is the nationally recognized transfer partnership between Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and George Mason University. ADVANCE offers NOVA associate degree graduates a seamless transition to Mason’s 80+ bachelor’s degree programs. The ADVANCE Admissions Coordinator will join a cross-trained, proactive recruitment team and effectively develop and utilize recruitment strategies to yield ADVANCE students.
We seek a candidate who is able to lead change and innovation in a complex environment, collaborate across colleges and departments, and contribute to the overall goals and objective of the university.
Build and maintain relationships with prospective students, helping them navigate the admissions process through phone, e-mail, social media and face-to-face meetings;
Participate in ADVANCE and Transfer recruitment events;
Respond to prospective student inquiries in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system;
Counsel students on alternative paths to Mason;
Collaborate with ADVANCE coaches;
Review applicant credentials for timely enrollment decisions;
Collaborate with Domicile and Transfer Credit Evaluation staff to facilitate ADVANCE matriculation;
Assist with reporting.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of education and experience;
An understanding of the undergraduate student experience, including the ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, faculty and administrators;
Willingness and ability to travel locally, as occasional travel is required;
Available for evening and weekend work;
Comfortable with public speaking in large and small group situations;
Strong analytical skills;
Comfortable working with diverse populations;
Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information and situations;
Ability to prioritize tasks in a hectic, deadline-driven environment;
Computer literacy and willingness to learn new software applications;
Proven ability to work positively as a team member;
Demonstrated customer service experience;
Experience working with undergraduates in a counseling environment, or experience in higher education with knowledge of the admissions process;
Ability to safely and independently lift 30 lbs.
Previous experience with data analysis;
Previous experience with Ellucian Banner software;
Previous experience with Salesforce CRM.
Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience.
