About the Job

Microsoft's Global Content Ecosystem and Operations organization within Microsoft News & Feeds is looking for a Content Program Manager with strong technical and organizational skills who can drive proactive solutions and collaborate as part of a nimble and agile North American team.

Our goal is to provide a diverse, personalized and high-quality set of content feeds and experiences across multiple surfaces and devices. The successful candidate will advocate for the user, while having a thorough understanding of both the technical dimensions of our product and the U.S. media market.

Responsibilities

  • Helping to troubleshoot feed issues for our large corpus of premium content partners, while assisting them long-term to leverage self-service tools and processes.
  • Soliciting feedback from partners so their needs can be understood to maximize success and help them create the right investment opportunities in our product.
  • Evaluating new content feeds and experiences for quality, relevancy and engagement.
  • Communicating experimentation results for the NA regional team and recommending appropriate courses of action.
  • Helping to create product specifications and assisting in managing product roadmaps, prioritizing backlogs and working with developers to align on trade-offs.
  • Helping to drive improvements in the way the North America team operates and executes on special projects. Participate in developing methods to share and leverage these best practices with the rest of the global community.
  • Analyzing feature performance and supporting our engineering teams so our content experiences continuously drive higher user engagement and perception.
  • Assist with the North America team with driving human Intelligence system quality and efficiency improvements through guidelines and tool usability. Tracking service performance against KPI targets and reporting market trends and insights.
  • Collecting and analyzing data to support local hypotheses and insights.

Support managing vendor operations including timely PO processing and communications with vendor agencies.

Requirements

  • Minimum four years' experience in an online media environment preferred, but any comparable digital content experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 4 year degree year; 1 year program/project management experience
  • The successful candidate could come from a media background with demonstrated technology skills or a technology background with a deep understanding of the content business.
  • Familiarity with project/program management, content management systems and KPI tracking methods.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced content delivery environment with a keen understanding of the urgency that encompasses news and information programming.
  • Solution- and results-oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Manage multiple ongoing projects while simultaneously exploring new opportunities. Ability to anticipate and manage project risks, and at a moment's notice be able to speak to your teams' priorities and influence business decisions.
  • Excellent writing, formal presentation and interpersonal skills, with a keen ability to communicate ideas effectively with executives and engineering teams.
  • Experience in building roadmaps, tracking projects against that roadmap, and shipping products. Proven business acumen through demonstrable good outcomes for a previous employer.
  • Knowledge of market legal, journalistic, ethical and quality standards for content.
