Marketing and Communications Manager - Tepper School of Business

The Marketing and Communications Manager will help define and finesse the voice of the Tepper School dean's office and increase connectivity via internal and external communications to Tepper School faculty, staff, students, alumni network and the broader Tepper community and on social media. This position will create a strategic and measurable communications plan in alignment with the marcom plan and other CMU initiatives.
The manager will keep a pulse on top programs to contextualize the dean's speeches. Examples: MBA, MS, executive education and UGA programs; DE&I, branding and communications plan, media relations, rankings, etc.
The communications manager will oversee the content and production of the Tepper alumni magazine as well as the Tepper Times (internal/bi-weekly), Tepper Ticker (alumni/monthly), faculty research newsletters, etc. This person will align communications with an approved editorial calendar.
This position will also assist the CMCO on various projects and initiatives including but not limited to meeting and presentation preparation, events, proofreading, editing and a modest degree of administrative support.
Write remarks, talking points, reports, presentations, statements, correspondence, and other written materials for the dean's office. Translate complex or sensitive concepts into clear language for varying audiences.
Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to strengthen communications by creating and/or sourcing compelling internal news content. Publications for which this role is responsible for overseeing:
Editor duties for the annual Tepper alumni magazine.
Oversee production, timelines, responsibilities in close collaboration with Advancement and other departments.
Gather content and produce weekly E-newsletter (Tepper Times)
Create and execute an internal editorial and communications plan that is aligned with key strategic business objectives and implemented with consistency across Tepper School channels.
Write/edit copy for program collateral.
Assume social media responsibility on behalf of the dean's office.
Write and implement social media in support of the Tepper marketing and communication plan.
Manage, promote, and disseminate Tepper event information across audiences.
Upload and organize the Tepper School event calendar.
Measure, report and optimize on the effectiveness of internal communications using data and analytics.
Plan to build and maximize internal and external engagement.
5+ years of experience developing and implementing exceptional communication programs that engage, align, and inspire people
Experience scripting and writing communications for C-level executives, deans, etc.
Proven editorial responsibilities for magazines, newsletters, faculty research
Thorough knowledge of best practices and successful social media campaigns
Higher educational experience is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or equivalent experience required
