Job Description
The Athletics Digital Products Manager is part of Marketing within the Communications and Marketing team at Vanderbilt University and is responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining impactful content for Vanderbilt Athletics' websites and mobile applications. All content should strategically grow and enhance the Vanderbilt brand across a variety of constituents. The Digital Products Manager should have an eye for detail, a passion for solving problems and take pride in delivering a quality product. This position will bring existing WordPress expertise to the team and will be willing to continue to learn and adapt to chosen technologies. This position works closely with members of the Vanderbilt Athletics external relations unit, athletics communications contacts, and varsity program staff members to identify and execute departmental priorities. This position will also work with internal and external clients and vendors on the development of web-based solutions. Reporting directly to the Director of Digital Products, this position does not have supervisory responsibility. The flexibility to adapt to various scheduling--including event coverage, nights, weekends, and some holidays--is required.
The Communications and Marketing team is a dynamic and collaborative group that develops and executes strategies that inform, engage, and inspire others to participate in Vanderbilt University's global academic and research mission. The Marketing team is specifically responsible for developing and executing strategic content and digital platforms that advance the university's priorities and promote engagement and desired actions across a variety of core audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining impactful content that strategically grows the Vanderbilt Athletics brand in all external communications and across a variety of constituents.
- Provides oversight and leads the execution of all digital content across VUCommodores.com, including ideation, creation, design, and execution of content and strategy.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for digital-focused vendor partners.
- Develops creative content that enhances revenue streams through fan engagement and experience, brand awareness, advertising, and public relations strategies -- including collaborating with the ticketing and marketing departments to help push sales initiatives via VUCommodores.com and the department's social media channels.
- Manages creative development and the deployment of digital, social, mobile, and video content for communications and branding initiatives surrounding Vanderbilt athletic events. Provides direction and oversees the execution of comprehensive, integrated strategy related to digital content.
- Assists the Athletics department with digital communications initiatives to extend custom content across multiple platforms, including, but not limited to web, mobile, social, and video.
- Serves as liaison to video services to ensure total integration of video content across all channels.
- Develop metrics for tracking and evaluating performance and efficiency.
- Analyze and interpret data and information and make appropriate, data-based recommendations based on findings.
- Demonstrate a high level of comfort with WordPress.
- Think creatively and pragmatically with a willingness to consider many options, problem solve and take directives as necessary.
- Demonstrate excellence in news judgment, written communications skills, and a sense of what is appropriate for the brand.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of digital and social media landscapes.
- Work with the centralized Vanderbilt Digital Strategies team on special projects.
- Adhere to confidentiality and business ethics; demonstrate outstanding judgment and discretion.
- Demonstrate understanding of the university's mission, values, goals, and priorities and an ability to ensure that all are considered in developing communications strategies.

- Communicate and collaborate effectively with a wide range of audiences--including students, faculty, coaches, staff, families, leadership, alumni, donors, and vendors.
- Efficiently and effectively manage multiple, complex, and results-oriented projects with both quick turn-around requirements and long lead times.
- Operate in a highly organized fashion with attention to detail on all projects.
- Work outside regular business hours as needed to perform job responsibilities, including being officially on-call.
- Travel is required (5%).
- Provide overall support as needed and assigned for department priorities.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications - A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education is preferred .
- At least two years of related work experience in website content management is required .
- Thorough working knowledge of the full suite of Microsoft Office products is required .
- Experience with various technologies including but not limited to graphic design programs (InDesign, Photoshop) and basic HTML and CMS tools is required .
- Previous administrative experience with Vanderbilt University or in a private institution of higher education is preferred .
- Prior experience with the Division I athletics department is preferred .
- Expertise with in-game statistical programs (Stat Crew, Genius) is preferred .
- Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations is preferred .
