Assists with writing, editing, and posting content from the magazine, events, and brand extensions (e.g., The SAPIENS Podcast) across social-media and mobile-first platforms.Â
Identifies news pegs and opportunities to re-promote archival stories and other materials.
Pitches and produces social-first series that will elevate and expand the brand on social media.
Helps with other aspects of SAPIENSâ™ digital-distribution strategy and content, including the newsletter.Â
Oversees community management and engagement on all social platforms.
Oversees analytics reports to measure content performance and propose actionable recommendations for the team.
Actively consults with SAPIENS team members on relevant matters relating to social media, SEO, and online best practices.
Oversees any social media advertising strategies and activities.
Collaborates with the team to maximize storiesâ™ reach and ensure the brand is meeting site-wide growth and engagement goals.
Ensures that SAPIENS is an early innovator on emerging platforms and keeps abreast of the latest social-media trends.Â
Solves a range of straightforward problems, as work assignments are difficult and broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity. Manage digital and social media assets (including routine website maintenance); compiles and analyzes relevant metrics based on established strategic goals.
Continues to build knowledge of the University, processes and customers.
Performs other related work as needed.
MA or PhD in anthropology strongly preferred.
Two to five years of experience in social media.Â
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Experience with analytics and listening tools including CrowdTangle, SocialFlow, Buffer, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, Google Analytics, Parse.ly, and other tools.Â
Familiarity and experience with image editing tools, such as the Adobe creative suite, InDesign, Photoshop, and InCopy.
Background with video production tools and processes.Â
Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Submittable, WordPress, Zoom, Slack, and Google Docs.
Fluent in a non-English language, particularly Spanish.
Advance the magazineâ™s mission, vision, and commitments.
Creatively develop the magazineâ™s goal of bringing historically marginalized voices to the center of conversations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Â
Deep understanding of the media landscape and a strong news sense.Â
