This commitment and pride make for a dynamic workplace.Job SummaryThe Digital Content and Communications Specialist develops and implements original content for key integrated marketing materials and campaigns spanning multiple channels and media including Simmons University articles and website content, print materials, e-newsletters, social media, and more. This position is responsible for the creation and development of content across multiple platforms that attracts, supports, and engages current and prospective students, alumnae/I, faculty, staff, and other key stakeholders.Under the direction of the Content Manager, the Digital Content and Communications Specialist assists with the production of news content for the Simmons University website, including generating fresh story ideas, writing original content, and advising on and editing content contributed from content writers at the University. In addition, the Digital Content and Communications Specialist will assist with the development and execution of the University?s digital email and newsletter strategy, including creating and curating content, designing templates, and ensuring accessibility compliance. Responsibilities:Writing & Editing: Conducting interviews; write and edit original news stories, profiles, and content across Simmons.edu; ensure that existing and new content is accurate, appropriate for the web and for intended audience(s), and adheres to the University?s editorial style and brand standards; edit and proofread content written by others; and cultivate a robust network of campus contacts to fuel content creation.Website Content Development: Provide support and guidance to cross-departmental team of content providers; make updates to Simmons.edu; implement content optimization strategies; and create integrated content opportunities for social media, video, and photo.Email and E-Newsletter Development: Manage e-newsletter strategy and process for relevant University e-communications. This includes writing and cultivating content; leading the review and editing process; assisting with design and layout; managing distribution; and analyzing metrics to inform future strategy and approach.
