The University Communications Manager (UCM) will provide support in the development and implementation of short- and long-term communications strategies and campaigns to increase the visibility of the University. Original conceptualizing and writing, editing, and proofing of material is an essential part of this position.
The University Communications Manager will produce campaigns and content that reflect the HNU brand and support HNU's marketing and communication goals. The UCM works closely with Marketing and University colleagues to develop concepts, messages, and designs across all communications media in order to execute effective marketing and communications strategies.
Essential Functions of Position
Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the UCM advises and consults with internal clients regarding all aspects of communications and indirectly supervises the department's Enrollment Communications Specialist and student workers.
Write news items and profile University community members for the HNU website, monthly newsletter, social media, recruitment materials, and alumni magazine.
Manage and produce content for the University's social media accounts, supervising student worker support staff.
Oversee other University-affiliated accounts to ensure brand consistency and provide guidance for other social media managers.
Monitor social media activity that may support or damage HNU's reputation.
Produce video content and manage contracted videographers in collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
Provide support with campus photography.
Manage HNU's enrollment communications plans built in HNU's Slate CRM in collaboration with the Admissions team and the Director of Marketing and Communications.
Maintain HNU Communication policies, style guides and standards in all marketing materials.
Serve as communications representative on various University committees
Determine and monitor KPIs for communications efforts.
Coordinate special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field required.
