Pelli Clarke & Partners is seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial, organized, and practical thinker to lead the firm’s business development efforts and manage a team composed of marketing staff and graphic designers.
Business Development Responsibilities include but:
- Establish strategies and proactive efforts in finding and pursuing business opportunities.
- Strengthen collaborative relationships with existing clients, associate architects, and consultants.
- Identify and focus efforts on key project types and critically review project opportunities for the firm.
- Work collaboratively with partners and senior team members to identify new opportunities and construct bespoke proposals that address client needs.
- Regularly communicate and meet with new/existing clients to discover project information, alongside firm leadership.
- Take the lead in the management of bids, proposals, and presentations for all new business pursuits.
- Develop pursuit strategy by identifying competitive advantages for Pelli Clarke & Partners.
- Contribute to client interview strategy, creating marketing collateral for interviews and other presentations, and managing the interview process.
- Contribute to the selection of consultants and make teaming recommendations.
- Analyze project requirements and assemble fee proposals to service project requirements and meet business objectives.
- Coach and mentor marketing and graphic design staff on business development strategies and techniques.
The director will lead a marketing and communications team, managing the production of RFP/RFQ as well as communication and marketing content. A successful director will provide a vision for the creation and production of content for digital media platforms: website and social media; lead and manage Press/PR prospects and responses; design and implement strategies to communicate brand pillars and core values.
Marketing and Communications Responsibilities include:
- Supervise and coordinate RFP/RFQ applications, working closely with firm partners and consultants to execute content and graphics of submitted materials.
- Manage marketing staff and graphic designers to balance workloads, advance team goals, cultivate high quality submissions, and meet overlapping deadlines.
- Develop strong, consistent, and concise voice that is clear and engaging through strong writing skills to present the firm’s strategic and creative strengths and experience.
- Manage the firm’s extensive production of images, working with project photographers and videographers.
- Ensure project assets, information, and case studies are current and relevant
- Manage, track, and report on analytics across digital platforms and implement data-driven decisions to improve and evolve the practice’s marketing content and digital strategies.
- Implement processes with partners, project leaders and firm staff to maintain continuous updates of projects, news, bios and other.
- Evaluate success of submittals.
- Oversee submissions of awards.
Qualifications & Additional Information: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, business, communications, digital design, art history or other related field; 5-8 years’ experience and direct business development, communications, and marketing experience; direct knowledge of real estate development and/or the A/E/C market strongly preferred. Creative thinker with leadership and initiative who can offer new ideas, frame challenges, highlight opportunities and provide practical solutions. Excellent visual sensibility with a strong super-detailed graphic and strong writing skills and experience in creating engaging, bright copy and dynamic creative content. Knowledge of the field of architecture is strongly encouraged. The ability to work well with a team, the ability to balance multiple projects, meet deadlines and attention to detail are required. The position periodically requires evening and weekend hours. Pay rate commensurate with experience.
