McDaniel College invites applications for a full-time, 11-month, Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. Located in Westminster, Maryland, McDaniel is a NCAA Division III institution competing in the Centennial Conference. Reporting to the head coach, the assistant coach will assist in all aspects of program operations including organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, trainings, and competitions, among other responsibilities. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Identifying and recruiting qualified prospective student-athletes as well as assisting with student-athlete academic success and retention. • Assisting with fundraising, marketing, and promotional activities including organizing and running camps/clinics. • Providing individualized coaching, advising, and mentoring to student-athletes. • Actively participating in campus events. • Overseeing all social media accounts including drafting and creating mailers for prospective athletes. • Reviewing opponent video and creating scouting reports. • Engaging with parents and alumni.
Qualifications
- Previous college and/or professional level coaching required
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strength & Conditioning certification preferred
- Successful collegiate recruiting experience
- Ability to work a flexible work week that includes evenings and weekends
- Computer proficient and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Frontrush, Hudl, and other platforms
