The University of Oregon, an NCAA Division I institution and successful member of the Pac-12 Conference, is currently accepting applications for the position of a full-time intern in the Athletic Communications office for 2022-23.
The position is a 12-month appointment starting in July 2022 and running through June 30, 2023. The intern will report directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications. The application deadline is June 1, but the position will be filled as soon as possible.
Responsibilities include direct involvement with all 20 intercollegiate programs while overseeing Olympic sports as assigned, in addition to social media publicity efforts, creating and developing online content, writing news releases and feature stories, maintaining online record books and assisting with the production of various game day programs and flip cards. Additionally, the position will have duties associated with various NCAA Championship events hosted by the University of Oregon.
Successful candidates should exhibit a proficiency in standard industry programs, such as InDesign and Photoshop, plus a strong ability to utilize various types of social media, such as Instagram and Twitter. Experience with statistical programs such as NCAA Live Stats and Statcrew is preferred. Minimum qualifications include an undergraduate degree and one year of experience in the sports information field in a college or professional sports setting, or equivalent.
