Administrative Research Coordinator - Center for Diabetes Translation Research

A qualified individual is needed for an administrative coordinator position with the Center for Diabetes Translation Research (WU-CDTR) at the Brown School. The WU-CDTR is one of seven Centers for Diabetes Translation Research funded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). In partnership with the Council on Black Health, at Drexel University, and the University of Missouri, Columbia, we support a national network of investigators conducting cutting-edge research on the root causes of diabetes inequities. The administrative coordinator will assist the research manager with regular operations of the center, including scheduling standing meetings, quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis, and creating progress reports to submit to NIH. This individual will also be responsible for implementing the center communication strategy, including the creation and dissemination of center news and translation products to internal and external audiences (web-based).
This staff person will work as part of a team and individually to perform duties and responsibilities required to meet project needs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain regular communications with assigned core directors and affiliated center members.
Assist with coordinating core and center-related research projects including scheduling standing meetings and timely updates on project timeliness and progress.
Assist center manager with events supporting members working on manuscripts, grants, or other research projects.
Represent the WU-CDTR professionally and adhere to strict confidentiality of information and data.
Assist center manager with tracking members throughout the year and creating progress report to submit to NIH.
Perform annual surveys with members, collect and analyze data, and present findings to staff for improvements.
Provide general office support and assist with special projects as assigned.
Implement communications strategy for internal audiences (center members) and external audiences including the creation and dissemination of center news and updates.
Maintain center website and social media presence.
Assist in the development of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications; conduct statistical analysis of data, end note manuscripts.
Conduct literature reviews using library resources and Internet. Read and comprehend reports and literature. Synthesize and summarize data.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelorâ™s degree in social work, public health or related field.
Strong research methods skills and high degree of proficiency with literature review systems (Psych literature, ERIC, etc.).
Program management experience.
One year of experience in a research setting.
Personable, flexible, organized, and comfortable in a project management position.
Experience with a variety of computer programs (video, statistical, web design, etc.)
Experience with Qualtrics (or similar survey software, such as Survey Monkey), SPSS, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel.
Experience in collecting and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data.
Program management competence; ability to plan, oversee and track multiple projects.
Ability to work and maintain a professional demeanor with a variety of communities, university, department, and staff.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Familiarity with NIH grant and manuscript submission process.
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
Three years of relevant experience.
$20.15 - $31.26 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
