Serve as part of the marketing team, and works closely with other members of University Communications and Marketing (UCM).
Develop and manage content for UCM-owned and managed web properties, university-wide priority initiatives, and marketing-driven pages that will engage key audiences and meet KPIs and brand goals. Ensure that american.edu interacts effectively with other digital properties, including organic, paid and on-site search, AU community newsletters, social media, paid advertising and earned media. Provide content expertise to web publishers across the university.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Oversee editorial calendar and content mix for the university homepage, and provide guidance for top landing pages for colleges, schools and divisions. Partner with the social media manager and digital team to integrate social media and university news content on the website.
Provide strategic digital content expertise for the ongoing development and refreshing of the university’s digital content, including the homepage, division and college/school pages and other key priority microsites.
Collaborate with other digital team members on all adjustments to site to enhance effective time spent on site, bounce, and engagement. Glean actionable insights from content metrics, make recommendations based on metrics and educate internal audiences.
Stay current with relevant and emerging trends, issues and opportunities. Serve as a resource on social media/web best practices.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Marketing and Public Affair
3-5 years of digital communications and project management experience
Demonstrated experience creating and curating authentic, strategic and audience-driven digital content.
Understanding of web content best practices, including knowledge of industry standards for information architecture and responsive design, and familiarity with web usability, accessibility and SEO.
Demonstrated experience with developing content using content management systems.
Experience using Google Analytics or other website and social media analytical tools.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Excellent editorial skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple, high-level projects simultaneously.
