State Government Reporter
The Seattle Times, a family-owned news organization and one of the nation’s premier regional news sources, is hiring a State Government Reporter for its Olympia bureau. As a member of our Pulitzer Prize-winning newsroom, you will lead coverage that focuses on top elected and appointed state officials, including the governor and the Legislature, in an accountability role. This is a key position at the nerve center of the Metro politics team, and much of what this reporter covers affects Seattle and county governments across the state, from what direction the state takes in combating COVID, to how children are educated, to how taxpayers’ dollars are spent. Washington, while solidly blue on a statewide level, contains important pockets of conservative voters and officehold
