Daily Hours: Summary PositionThe Human Resources Communication and Project Assistant is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy for the Human Resources Department, coordinating HR messaging internally and externally in line with the University communications strategy, for the design and delivery of all HR communications collateral and for supporting the CHRO with scheduling, travel, HR budgets and management of strategic initiatives and priorities.
Education RequirementsRequired bachelors degree in related field (i.e., Human Resources, Business Administration, Communication, etc.). Must have a minimum of 3 years experience with project management and communication. Prior executive assistant experience in a higher education setting preferred.

General Purpose of Position- The HR Communication and Project Assistant is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy for the Human Resources Department, coordinating HR messaging internally and externally in line with the University communications strategy, for the design and delivery of all HR communications collateral and for supporting the CHRO with scheduling, travel, HR budgets and management of strategic initiatives and priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Communications - Partner with the HR leadership team to develop and implement a unified HR communication strategy, integrating all HR functions-benefits, compensation, talent acquisition, etc.
- Promote new HR initiatives. Develop and implement communication plans, including meeting timelines and managing budget. Write and edit articles, employee-facing emails, and web and social media content. Ensure communications are relevant, timely, and impactful.
- Manage and regularly update HRs social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn) to promote events and share HR-related news and information. Monitor social media comments and information being posted by other parties about HR.
- Work closely with University Communications, the HR Team, and other University communications staff to integrate and promote HR messages with other campus communications. Develop integrated communication plans when necessary.
- Manage HRs website, updating content as needed. Keep abreast of new website features and capabilities.
2. Assistant to the CHRO - Provide oversight for salary and operating budgets for Human Resources (operating, personnel and benefits), analyzing and updating budgets to ensure accurate information; coordinate purchase requisition approval procedures; administer the operating budget for the office of the vice president, including all department recruitment and professional development expenditures.
- Manage schedule and logistics for the CHRO, including scheduling of various committees and group meetings; coordination of invitations and logistics for HR events; travel, procurement card expenses and reallocations; and coordination of logistics of planning retreats
- Prepare correspondences and reports and ensure they meet professional level standards in content and presentation.
3. Project Assistant for Strategic Initiatives and Priorities - Project Management: Assists the CHRO in ongoing and periodic projects such as department and university initiatives, financial projections, etc. Provides ongoing leadership for the department to work as a unit and avoid silos, focusing project work groups and reports and coordinating efforts to support HR excellence.
- Planning: Assists in the coordination and development of annual and long-range goals and priorities for the Department of Human Resources. Assists the CHRO to gather information on and communicate progress on the achievement of goals and priorities on an ongoing basis. Assists in the development of plans for personnel, facilities, programs, and budgets consistent with institutional and divisional goals and priorities.

- Demonstrated experience building partnerships and relating effectively with diverse constituents including students, faculty, senior staff, parents, alumni, trustees, and leaders in the profession
Education and ExperienceRequired bachelors degree in related field (i.e., Human Resources, Business Administration, Communication, etc.).
