POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Athletic Director the Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for assisting the Athletic Director in oversight, administration and promotion of the athletics program. This position is responsible for overall athletic website management, coordination of game day activities,
CRM Advise retention dashboards and communication and overall marketing to increase digital presence on social media channels. This position is also responsible for oversight of student-athlete eligibility documentation and
NJCAA compliance documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: - Assists the athletic director in scheduling of competition with appropriate timelines.
- Coordinate compliance for student-athlete eligibility along with completing determination of eligibility compliance for NJCAA reporting.
- Assists the athletic director ensuring compliance with all NJCAA and MCCAA rules and regulations.
- Oversee completion, monitoring and dissemination of results of all federal government requirements, (i.e., determine eligibility; coordinate the athletic monitoring program, equity issues with regard to Title IX).
- Coordination of game day operations; to include event staffing and management.
- Confer regularly with supervisor, other athletics staff and other college personnel to plan, coordinate and evaluate activities/programs/facilities, exchange information, investigate and resolve problems.
- Serves as a mentor to each student-athlete to promote the development of all the expectations for Delta College Student-Athlete. Update Student Athlete Handbook, policy and procedure manual. Code of Conduct, the Delta College student conduct manual, and other institutional rules, and expectations, policies and procedures.
- Review reports of academic progress to support continuing eligibility of student-athletes in consultation with the Athletic Director to inform coaches of their student-athlete progress. Oversee all aspects of the student-athlete study hall program, referring student athletes to appropriate resources when necessary.
- Coordinate with Student Success Technologist in SES in development and implementation of electronic workflow for student-athlete academic progress reports.
- Coordinate with Student Success Technologist in SES to develop CRM Advise dashboards to track retention and overall success while developing communication workflows for student-athletes.
- Organize event information for leadership development, and athletic programs.
- Assist in the development of Athletic Orientation.
- Communicate admission policies and processes to prospective students, staff and community members and assist with application processes as appropriate.
- Assist with general enrollment duties (enrollment/retention) as assigned.
- Promote a favorable image of the institution at all times. Represent the program and Delta College with integrity, respect, sportsmanship, and professionalism in the community and at sponsored events/contests.
- Maintain department website and input required information on Delta Athletics website. Inform athletic and marketing offices of news and information. Provide proper news stories to promote each sport program.
- Work in collaboration with Marketing to develop recruitment material including brochures, presentation materials and athletic signage. Create innovative ways to market and promote athletic department.
- Assist in support of special events, i.e. Special Olympics and Possible Dream Athletic events as well as support fundraising opportunities as time permits due to athletic commitments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1 to 3 years' of position related experience
