The Position: First Look Media is looking for an energetic reporter to join The Intercept’s politics team — someone who wants to cover Congress and the Biden administration as a meaningful enterprise rather than a sporting event, but who wants to do so with a high metabolism. The ideal candidate has a track record of breaking news online and can shift comfortably between short scoops, investigative work, and news analysis.  The reporter must be able to work collaboratively with other reporters, researchers, and editors at The Intercept. The reporter is expected to be a self-starter who can generate their own story ideas, as well as quickly respond to assignments from editors and use sources and documents to write exclusive stories.
