What you will be doing in this role:
The Senior Social Media Specialist is responsible for maintaining day-to day strategic social media efforts that highlight health system organizational objectives. The Senior Media Specialist works under the supervision of the Conference Services Coordinator and Manager of the Conference Services Department and has the primary responsibility of maintaining the technical and audiovisual activities of the centrally booked conference rooms. The Specialist will perform a variety of technical job functions connected to in-person, hybrid, and remote meetings, events and conferences. Will support and assist with the operation and maintenance of installed Audio-Visual hardware and related components throughout the conference centers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as the primary on-the-ground technical A/V support overseeing the thirty-four conference rooms under the Conference Services Department.
Operates and assists large-scale events in our main auditoriums. Liaison with event coordinators running multiple presentations, video projection, audio reinforcement, web conferencing and streaming, lighting, and any other A/V needs.
Responsible for continuous quality improvement of in-room AV, storage, projector hours, maintains and tracks all inventory.
Schedules and assists in Web Conferencing including Zoom, WebEx, Teams and other platforms as necessary.
Supports role responsibilities for virtual events including acting as Host and/or Co-host, managing and assisting with participant’s sound and video, coordinating recording and media playback, providing technical support, implementing 3rd party Closed-Captioning services, and additional responsibilities as determined.
Assess customer needs and directs work to appropriate staff. Interfaces with clients to address incidents, resolves problems and informs Coordinator/Manager when appropriate.
Assists in scheduling and monitoring assignments, conducts staff training, and makes recommendations for the training of per-diem staff assigned to this unit.
Reads schematics, assesses signal flow from diagrams, troubleshoot to the component level and devise “work-arounds” in high-stress situations in order to keep live content up and running within the context of real-time conferences. Reads and interprets room diagrams & setup sheets with respect to A/V setups.
Develops and revises written instructions for departmental training on all a/v equipment and conference systems.
Develops and handles a preventive maintenance program for hospital-owned audiovisual equipment.
Acts as the technical liaison for facilities projects – equipment specifications, biding, purchase requisitions, room planning and equipment installations.
Assists departmental organizers and clients with A/V run-throughs to ensure the comfort of presenters and provide basic instruction on the operation of A/V equipment, as needed.
Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas; AV/Recording, video or television production, photography, computer graphics, multimedia required.
Four (4) years work experience in Audio Visual field.
