MANAGER, EXTERNAL RELATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS, Office of the Associate Provost for International Activities (OAPIA), to manage communications regarding MIT's international activities and identify and develop diverse content for the Global MIT website in collaboration with the MIT News Office and major initiatives. Will also be responsible for planning and coordinating occasional visits by high-level foreign delegations to campus, serve as the primary liaison between those delegations and the MIT community, and identify MIT participants and balance MIT's priorities and goals with those of the visiting delegations.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably international studies, management, or media and communications; five years of communications experience; experience with complex event planning and event management; excellent analytical, problem-solving, project management, interpersonal, customer service, cross-cultural, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop trusted partnerships with internal and internal stakeholders; self-direction and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; ability to work strategically and successfully balance and prioritize a highly dynamic and diverse workload; ability to work under tight deadlines and serve as a highly effective 'face' of the office; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Slack, and Zoom. PREFERRED: familiarity with MIT or university settings, specifically a solid understanding of the diverse interests of faculty/departments/students and ability to effectively engage faculty and staff in delegation visits; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Premiere, Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop), web content management systems, project management and social media management software, SEO, and Google Analytics; and comfort with managing ambiguity and navigating change.
