The Communications Manager for the Maseeh College supports the College's goals and reports to the Dean of the College. The Manager develops and implements an integrated communication, advertising, and media relations plan that advances the external reputation of Maseeh College and its academic departments and research centers, connects with future students (first year, transfer, and graduate), and informs the faculty, staff, and students of College and University of relevant events, news, and policies. The Manager is responsible for developing internal and external relationships to implement the overall communications plan. The Manager will work closely and collaboratively with University Communications, other communications and marketing employees at the University, and the Maseeh College's External Relations team.
Content Development and Delivery
Deliver the communications and marketing activities identified in the annual plan.
Design, create, and edit stories, articles, brochures, invitations, programs, videos and other materials for use in all media needed to implement the communications plan.
Manage the creation, design, and distribution of external newsletters for the college and the five academic departments.
Develop and maintain and edit the Maseeh College's website tailoring it to the various needs of the audiences.
Coordinate with academic department staff that manage websites to ensure information is current and engaging.
Manage and implement the College's social media presence, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
Program Development and Management
Coordinate with the college's academic leadership team to create an annual communications and marketing strategy for Maseeh College for various internal and external audiences including prospective students, current students, alumni, industry, and faculty and staff.
Develop and manage a communications budget, including any external design, multimedia, and printing vendors for content development needs.
Cultivate and build relationships with the local and national news media, particularly technology and engineering reporters, to cultivate interest in the Maseeh College's research programs and initiatives.
Track and report the effectiveness of communication and marketing efforts.
Work closely with the Maseeh College's External Relations team to support their efforts in development.
Serve as the primary liaison with the Enrollment Management and Student Affairs team to create appropriate opportunities and/or programs to advance and improve student recruitment.
Serve as the primary liaison to and coordinate with the University Communications marketing team to support Masseh college-related news releases, media advisories, news conferences, and interviews with outside media.
Candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree and have 3+ years of related experience or a Master's degree and 1+ years of related experience.
Experience in a higher education setting and/or in the engineering/technology sector.
Self–directed, proactive, and demonstrated ability to initiate activities.
Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the proven ability to effectively meet deadlines, prioritize, and follow through on tasks and projects.
Experience with website management and maintenance software (Drupal).
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google products, Adobe Creative Suite and web-related applications.
