Posting Position Title:  Communications Officer 1

Required Skill/ability 3:  

Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills; ability to provide leadership and influence change. Ability to think strategically and take personal initiative. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team structure.



Work Week:  Standard (M-F equal number of hours per day)

University Job Title:  Writer and Communications Manager

Required Skill/ability 1:  Demonstrated experience developing communications for a range of media. Experience working with consultants in marketing, design, photography, or video. Strong experience with social media including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Skills using non-traditional media such as video, blogging and live-streamed discussions.

Required Skill/ability 4:  Strong ability to evaluate and solve communications needs quickly. Proven ability to manage multiple projects to deadline amidst competing priorities. Knowledge of an academic environment, needs of administration and communication preferences of faculty, students and staff.

Required Skill/ability 2:  

Demonstrated excellent writing skills; ability to write for both print and online media. Demonstrated skills using online media for communications or marketing; editorial judgment and ability to work under pressure and high attention to detail.

Bachelor's Degree in a related field and four years of experience in website design, production, marketing, project management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
