The Director of Graphic Design and Social Media is responsible for supporting TCU Athletics communications and creative content objectives by managing projects, including graphic design. This position is responsible for developing, overseeing and maintaining all digital elements of TCU Athletics resulting in an integrated strategy to advance the TCU Athletics brand in the digital space. The person oversees and manages the strategy and production of all graphic assets for athletic digital use on all platforms and within key athletic venues. This position is also responsible for managing TCU Athletics Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.
1. Designs and produces materials to increase TCU Athletics’ profile by developing concepts/designs; posters, logos, and a variety of other marketing print and collateral materials; applying designs to web, social media and other electronic media. 2. Monitors and maintains the official TCU Athletics social media accounts which include: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. 3. Maintains TCU brand and logo direction by communicating best practices and supplying graphics that support the visual standards. 4. Works with the communications and creative content staff, providing clear communication, and following up to ensure quality and direction are on brand strategy. 5. Monitors the graphic design work of other departments to ensure it adheres to basic rules of design. 6. Assists in the development and management of student interns; provides instruction and direction to students to further promote the athletic departments message through social media. 7. Oversees all planning relating to social and digital media publicly posted on official platforms. 8. Designs, develops and delivers graphics, visual text and imagery for social media content. 9. Assists in developing a strategic vision for all video elements, including social media and video boards at athletic venues. 10. Leads team on developing brand standards for visual content and communicates to all affected parties to maintain brand integrity. 11. Advises coaches, staff and all departmental account administrators on best social media practices and university brand standards. 12. Tracks the success of new initiatives by gathering input from various sources; applying statistics; implementing improvements; providing clear and concise quarterly reports to supervisors. 13. Advances TCU Athletics’ brand by recommending social media opportunities that support current branding initiatives and actively monitoring trends in social media. 14. Promotes accurate and positive information about TCU Athletics by closely monitoring social networking sites and responding quickly and strategically to questions and comments involving TCU Athletics; follows University procedures when responding to sensitive issues or major crises.
