Join our SC CTSI team as the Community Engagement (CE) Communications Lead!

The SC CTSI CE group serves as the connection between researchers and local communities in Los Angeles, creating and building sustainable partnerships that enable research initiatives to address the health needs of the community.
The CE group at the SC CTSI is seeking a CE Communications Lead to join their team. The CE Communications Lead will manage the overall dissemination strategy across all projects including our digital presence by posting to our social platforms daily to create more visibility for the CE programs; help write and disseminate reports, policy briefs, newsletters, and flyers; engage our partners including community members and organizations; This position requires a deep understanding of social media platforms, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, technological proficiency, excellent writing and communication skills, marketing and PR knowledge, creativity and innovativeness, and ability to work successfully with diverse people across various groups and organizations.
50% Writing and Dissemination
Dissemination and communication about education workshops and events across all projects
Develop and disseminate flyers and newsletters to our community members and partners.
Help write and create format for community reports, fact sheets, and policy briefs.
Organize public briefings about projects
Track news coverage of public health issues in traditional and digital media (e.g., newspapers and blogs) to summarize for the team to help with project direction and planning.
Disseminate reports to community members and partners.
Create content for diverse audiences
Support media relations by maintaining our press list and pitching occasional stories to local, state, or national news outlets to elevate our research findings.
Assist with management of email listservs.
Assist with communication and dissemination related to recruitment of research participants
40% Digital Presence
Develop and maintain our social media dissemination strategy across platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Create daily content across platforms
Provide continued guidance and oversight of social media dissemination strategy.
Track and analyze online engagement data to inform our digital strategy and evaluation process.
Create graphics, sample posts, and social media toolkits to support the dissemination of CE resources.
Update VaccinateLA website and CTSI webpage.
Contribute to the development of new blogs, videos, newsletters
Create short videos to be posted on online
Promote educational information generated by the CE team
Promote CE team and community engaged work
Manage project website

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Deep knowledge of and experience with social media marketing and platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Twitter, LinkedIn)
Knowledge and experience with social media analytics
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrate sensitivity, understanding and the ability to effectively interact and work with individuals (internal and external) from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, religious, disability and ethnic backgrounds.
Demonstrate a high level of accountability, responsibility and dependability.
Ability to prepare concise, logical, and grammatically correct documents, reports and presentations for various audiences
Strong organizational skills

Public Relation experience (press release writing, media relations)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge and understanding of the South and East LA community a plus

Video creation and editing skills
3+ years of experience in comparable role
Masterâs Degree a plus
Bilingual in Spanish a plus
