Department purpose and structure The HR team at Allen & Overy provides a first class service to the business, offering strategic HR business advice at the business partner level and quality support services in the full range of HR functions through specialist teams such as, learning & development, resourcing, reward, employee relations advice, diversity and inclusion, payroll, systems and HR administration.
Role purpose The Senior Coordinator of Attorney Recruitment works with all partner and non-partner lateral attorney recruiting for the firm. Under the supervision of the Recruitment Senior Manager and Manager, the Senior Coordinator will be tasked with developing and executing key initiatives in support of the Firm's strategic goals with respect to hiring, onboarding and integrating lateral attorneys across the U.S. offices, though with a particular focus within the Northern California and Los Angeles markets.

Role and responsibilities • Proactively drive recruiting and onboarding process for experienced candidates for non-partner attorney openings across the firm’s U.S. offices. • Coordinate and facilitate interview process for the lateral partner recruitment: Correspond directly with external and internal stakeholders; Create and communicate interview meeting invites, schedules, and internal confirmation emails; Handle meeting logistics; Organize, track, and disseminate information for candidates and interviewers; and collate and track feedback in timely manner. • Track, analyze, report on, and refine recruitment metrics and outcomes, advance data-gathering efforts. • Develop job postings and source candidates through various methods including associate referrals and recruiters as well as other recruiting venues (e.g., LinkedIn, social media, job boards, etc.). • Cultivate and maintain relationships with local search firm recruiters and regularly communicate the firm’s lateral hiring needs. • Manage the lateral hiring process including reviewing candidate resumes, coordinating interview schedules, assessing evaluations. • Collaborate with HR, Professional Development department and other stakeholders to develop and manage orientation and onboarding program for lateral hires. • Supervise and contribute to professional development of the Legal Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant. • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Team This individual will report directly to the Lateral Recruitment Senior Manager and the Lateral Recruitment Manager and will work closely with other members of the US HR team.
Key requirements • Bachelor’s degree required. • Minimum of 3 years of legal recruiting/talent management experience in a law firm or other professional services setting required. • Sophisticated strategic and analytical thinking, drive, initiative, and problem-solving skills required. • Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability prioritize and multi-task effectively. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with personnel at all levels. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule that will occasionally require travel and extended hours. • Ability to exercise good judgment and to recognize and treat confidential information in a professional manner.
