The Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Experience will develop, direct, coordinate and execute strategic marketing plans for assigned sports. They will work with coaches, support staff and administration for sports to ensure their stories are being communicated and their events are attended by the greatest amount of people possible, while turning those events into revenue-generating opportunities for the division. In doing so, she/he will ensure marketing and communication activities are based on solid brand strategy, positioning/value proposition development, claims development and messaging.
This position will assist with the management of gameday operations and coordinate the student staffing required for home events, including student workers, Dance Team, Pep Band and Blue Crew squads. The position builds relationships with on-campus partners and student groups and organizations to drive attendance and campus engagement.

Develops and assists in managing the implementation of division’s marketing plan.
Establishes and maintains project schedules for assigned work, consistently meeting deadlines. Effectively oversees production, ensuring standards for timeliness, quality and cost-effectiveness are met. Coordinates and works cooperatively with external and internal support services.
Collaborates with the marketing and communications team to initiate and coordinate internal and external marketing and communication activities, branding and web strategy initiatives (i.e. media relations, internal communications, external communications, online marketing and communications, social media campaigns, advertisements, etc.).
Coordinate the development, management and maintenance of websites and content that supports the division’s web presence, integration of the operations, search tools and social media.
Researches, writes and disseminates news, feature stories, photo releases, event announcements and stories to the appropriate communication channels – uses the intranet portal, internal University e-newsletter, media outlets, website and social media.
Works closely with other marketing positions across campus to align brand strategies and communications. Educates and unifies marketing strategy team to stay consistent with brand messaging and guidelines.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications or related field is required
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in marketing with a proven ability to develop a comprehensive marketing plan and implement best in class brand marketing and communication activities
Ability to use data to drive strategy and monitor results.
Knowledge and experience with both brand and direct marketing methods.
Experience leading and managing the work of others to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated organizational skills, exceptional verbal and written communications, strong business acumen, interpersonal skills, and ability to be a persuasive presenter and effective developer and leader of integrated marketing efforts.
