Rice Architecture is seeking a digital media manager. Using a unified brand and communications strategy, the digital media manager will plan, produce, and publish digital content and create compelling stories to promote Rice Architecture and Rice Design Alliance. This position serves as the primary staff member responsible for content creation, as well as the maintenance of all social media platforms. This role works both independently and on a team to develop and implement strategies that are aligned with the school's priorities.
The ideal candidate has a background and/or interest in architecture and design/arts fields and shares a visual sensibility akin to those in those disciplines.

The hiring range for this exempt, benefits-eligible position is $53-65,000 per year. Candidates must submit a letter of interest, resume, and small portfolio of previous work. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Recommends, develops, and implements the digital communications and brand strategy for a department or unit
Writes, designs, and coordinates the production of digital communication and social media
Develops integrated communications and/or marketing plans to meet objectives
Builds digital community through social media channels, blogs, and the web
Grows and engages user base
Designs and develops graphics
Manages social listening efforts, compiles data analyses and reports on social media use and performance
Provides customer service to constituents across digital channels
Represents the organization to constituents, campus, media
Develops content used to engage constituents and grow channels
Curates digital content; user-generated and organic content from across channels
Acts as an internal advocate for digital community efforts, building support for social initiatives among internal stakeholders and driving digital best practices
Contributes to overall development and refinement of digital community strategy, and innovative social initiatives
Performs all other duties as assigned
Manages social media platforms for Rice Architecture and Rice Design Alliance; serves as the primary staff member responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining the social media presence
Generates produces, edits, plans, publishes, and shares engaging content, such as stories, photos/images, videos/clips, graphics, etc.
Provides timely and continuous news and updates on the website and social media
Manages the documentation and archival of student and faculty work to generate stories related to projects and finished works for updates on the website and social media
Manages the documentation and archival of a student and faculty work database to support the school accreditation process
Photograph and digitally organize images and electronic marketing documentation
Provides support to the student-run and faculty-supported podcast
Two (2) years of professional experience in social media or digital marketing
Two (2) years of professional experience with technology, social platforms, current and future trends
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in photo and video editing skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and/or LightRoomOrganized and creative
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to take direction and work to meet expected deadlines and schedules
Demonstrated team player
Experience with online software applications such as Blackbaud CRM/Blackbaud Internet Solutions, WordPress, Tableau, Sprout, AirTable or Asana.
Experience in photography and digital organization
