Advanced Academic Programs, a division in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University, seeks an experienced and dynamic Web Manager to create and maintain several digital properties, increase the use of rich content to deliver a compelling user-experience, and enhance the cohesive presentation of each educational program in the AAP portfolio.
Each year, AAP enrolls over 6,000 graduate professional students, both part-time and full-time, in more than 45 distinctive professional graduate degrees, post-baccalaureate certificates, and non-credit courses. Over 77% of AAP's enrollments are through the online programs, otherwise classes occur on campus, either in Washington, D.C. or Baltimore, MD. The AAP Marketing and Communications team is also responsible for a significant summer and intersession portfolio of courses and programs offered at the pre-college and undergraduate levels. Each year, the Office of Summer and Intersession Programs enrolls more than 4,000 students.
The Marketing and Communications team within AAP seeks to implement a vision that integrates innovative marketing initiatives to highlight the value of its offerings and the success of its students. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, the Web Manager joins our team of professionals dedicated to supporting new student recruitment, program marketing, and strategic reinforcement of the JHU-AAP brand. This position works closely with the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, the AAP Marketing Communications team, and external marketing partners in achieving the division's marketing objectives for its digital properties. The position is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing cohesive website creation and maintenance with the latest technologies and a focus on student experience.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Web & Digital Marketing Properties Development and Oversight (70%)

Develop and reinforce adherence to best practices.
Plan and develop website functionality and organization to support changing marketing and academic priorities.
Align Web properties with other marketing efforts occurring through new student recruitment outreach, social media, events, and news.
Propose new initiatives and services to internal clients.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Siteimprove, and Atlassian's Jira Work Management systems for project management, reporting, and metric monitoring.
Able to manage project deadlines and deliverables and multitask on a variety of projects.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Able work collaboratively in a team environment.
Able to interact effectively with and direct external vendors through long-term efforts.
Demonstrate expertise in user experience and responsive design techniques.
Expertise with WordPress, including themes and plug-in installation and updating, Advanced Custom Fields, database connections using API and MySQL, and GitHub code hosting and version control.
Bachelor's Degree in fine arts, graphic design or other related field.
Four years related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Webmaster certification, Web development experience in a higher education setting.
Master's degree in marketing, communication, or related field.
Experience implementing content management systems, APIs, SEO, and social media.
Experience with image and video manipulation tools.
Knowledge of industry standards, including WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
Previous higher-education experience, or other service-oriented industry, highly desired.
