The Assistant Sports Information Director is a full-time, 12-month position that reports to the Assistant AD for Sports Communications. The Assistant Sports Information Director is responsible for assisting in the management of athletic communications, media, and broadcasting and assisting in the oversight of many aspects of the Department’s public relations and promotion mediums including the athletics website, social media accounts, news releases and printed publications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS •Assist with all aspects of athletic communications, media, and broadcasting units; •Create and maintain the Department’s publications and communication plan; •Maintain accurate statistical information, historical records and photo archives; •Assist with the development of and oversee the athletics communications budget; •Assist in the development and implementation of the department’s strategic communication and crisis management plan; •Write and disseminate news and feature articles, pre- and post-game releases, and wraps to media outlets; •Maintain compliance with all pertinent NCAA rules and regulations; •Increase brand awareness by promoting positive stories within the Department via local and national media; •Serve as media contact and coordinate coach and student-athlete media appearances; •Oversee assigned aspects of athletics website and ensure site information is complete and up-to-date; •Actively promote ticket sales, events, promotions and fundraisers through various media platforms; •Nominate student-athletes for appropriate academic and athletic honors, scholarships and awards; •Use the Adobe Creative Cloud to update graphics and documents and edit live video and interviews; •Oversee in-game media relations, including dissemination of rosters, game notes, stat books, etc.; •Use the latest social media trends to regularly to market and promote athletics programs and events; •Assume responsibility for assigned publications, media events, press conferences, and game day programs; •Assist in the maintenance of a consistent and premier level of institutional and community visibility for Flagler Athletics; •Report statistical information and results to the Peach Belt Conference office and NCAA; •Coordinate photography for certain Flagler College sports teams and special events; •Develop and nurture external media relationships to augment coverage locally, nationally and globally; •Develop compelling feature story ideas surrounding the program for internal and external distribution; •Generate and submit conference and national award nominations; •All other duties as assigned by the Assistant AD for Sports Communications
