Virginia Wesleyan University invites applications for the position of Director of Athletic Communications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Promote and publicize Virginia Wesleyan’s 23 intercollegiate athletic programs as well as the Cheer program
Write news releases and maintain the athletics website and social media accounts
Serve as the primary media contact for all of Virginia Wesleyan’s intercollegiate athletic programs
Manage an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications and a staff of work-study students
Assist with home event game management including statistics and webcast
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, sport management or a related field
A minimum of two years of experience working in intercollegiate media relations/sports information work
