Virginia Wesleyan University invites applications for the position of Director of Athletic Communications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Promote and publicize Virginia Wesleyan’s 23 intercollegiate athletic programs as well as the Cheer program
- Write news releases and maintain the athletics website and social media accounts
- Serve as the primary media contact for all of Virginia Wesleyan’s intercollegiate athletic programs
- Manage an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications and a staff of work-study students
- Assist with home event game management including statistics and webcast
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, sport management or a related field
- A minimum of two years of experience working in intercollegiate media relations/sports information work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Stat Crew/Stat Genius
- Experience with graphic design and video editing
