Assist with developing and implementing activities that involve specific affinities of alumni resulting in measured increased engagement and motivation to support the college philanthropically.
Remote hybrid work is available at a maximum of two days per week based on approval.
Essential Duties:
1. Manage and guide the cultivation activities for select special interest alumni groups. Affinities include, but are not exclusive to alumni of color, women focused, legacy, ROTC, academic departments, and student organizations. Collaborate with campus departments when planning programs, events, and activities to educate and connect constituents to the College and its alumni and student networks. Work closely with College Events partners on logistics and contribute to the creative programming for events. Work with alumni leadership volunteers (in some instances manage a volunteer planning committee) and donors for their guidance, expertise, and engagement.
2. Identify opportunities to incorporate virtual programming related to affinities through the FriarTIES program (a communication channel offering both virtual and in-person programming to foster connections within the Friar community).
3. Partner with the Chirico Career Center to offer career related programming, mentoring, and networking in our regions and with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Represent the alumni office at expos and career related events.
4. Support and identify new affinity engagement based on the priorities of the college as well as emerging affinity groups.
5. Review class, affinity, and regional alumni records to identify and recruit volunteers for national leadership to encourage the participation in campus programming and event committees. Compose and edit alumni news, class notes, and social media promotions for alumni publications and web-based communications. Identify and cultivate potential volunteers to participate in campus programming and leadership roles. Prepare data for gift officers to use in identifying prospects. Engage in qualification identification based on affinity.

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field required.
Three to five years of experience in special event planning and volunteer management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong wirtten and oral communication skills.
Exceptional organizational and management skills.
Ability to multi-task and work as a team player.
Good computer skills and knowledge of software applications common to advancement work.
