What will you be doing in this role:
The Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer owns the development, production, testing, and deployment systems for the Quantitative Diagnostic (QUAD) Software Group at Cedars-Sinai. In addition, the DevOps Engineer is the administrator and primary contact point for all external (mostly cloud-based) applications used by QUAD for engineering, QA/RA, and business operations purposes. Under the supervision of the Manager, Software Engineering, this critical position ensures that engineers, partners, and customers alike benefit from compliant, fast, and secure systems, and enjoys significant autonomy in tailoring solutions to meet the team's needs. Success and effectiveness in this capacity will require a strong desire to learn what it means to develop software in a highly regulated industry and an eagerness to participate in improving our processes, services, and products.
- Works within the engineering team to align system deployment with software development needs and goals.
- Works within QUAD to align system deployment with strategic regulatory or business needs and goals.
- Validates configuration changes to development/build systems for new operating systems, compiler and third-party toolkit versions, etc.
- Analyzes processes to find opportunities for automation. Implements automation solutions as appropriate using scripting or compiled tools.
- Architects data migration/transfer solutions to support business needs. Participates in implementation as appropriate.
- Enhances infrastructure resilience. Oversees backup policies and procedures. Works with the cybersecurity team to increase infrastructure security.
- Administers and provides first line of support for third-party engineering, QA/RA, and business operations systems (e.g.: vulnerability analysis, static code analysis, Jira/Confluence, QMS, billing/CRM, etc.). Interfaces with system vendors on technical issues.

Experience Requirements:
- Five (5)+ years of managing application design, software development, and maintenance.
- Three (3)+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer.
- Experience with revision control systems required; (Perforce experience preferred).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Python programming required; (C++ experience preferred).
- Strong scripting skills; (PowerShell and/or Bash preferred).
- Experience with continuous integration systems; (Jenkins experience preferred).
- Experience with virtual machine management; (VMware ESXi experience preferred).
- Experience as a developer (preferred) and understanding of developer workflows.
- Experience with cloud deployment of VMs and applications, and infrastructure automation (preferred).
- Strong Windows system administration skills (preferred); Network configuration and Linux administration skills a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, PowerShell, SQL (any flavor), MongoDB, and CMake (preferred).
Educational/Certification Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
Master's degree preferred.
AWS Certification preferred. (AWS Solution Architect or Developer)
