Under the direction of the Associate Athletics Director of Media Relations, the Sports Information Specialist will be responsible for distribution of press releases for the Utah Tech University Athletic department. The Sports Information Specialist will manage and update Athletic Department's social media platforms, and provide maintenance of athletic websites. Assist the Associate Athletic Director and the Sports Information Coordinator in any media related tasks.
Assist the Associate Athletic Director – Media Relations (Sports Information Director) with a variety of tasks connected to all aspects of athletic communications for UT’s 15 intercollegiate athletic programs.
Provide sports information game management assistance for all Utah Tech home events.
Serve as primary media contact for women’s volleyball, M/W cross country and women’s track and field.
Create and distribute press releases to the media, community, alumni and Utah Tech faculty and staff to further develop Utah Tech in the local community, the State of Utah and the Nation.
Develop relationships with all local and state media outlets in order to garner additional coverage of Utah Tech athletic teams in the form of game day event coverage, interviews, photo requests, etc.
Overall in-house management of all official Utah Tech social media outlets (department and individual athletic programs) to promote department news, along with graphic, photo and video content.
Continual maintenance and updating of the Utah Tech website: UtahTechTrailblazers.com.
Respond to the conference office(s), conference institutions, and any other institution's request for pertinent information.
Maintain up-to-date records on all events and alumni related to UT Athletics. This would include both past and present athletes and the development of archives.
Gather and disseminate information on UT athletes such as hometowns, interest stories, practice progress, pre-game stories, brochures, pamphlets, etc.
Possible travel with teams for away contests.
Adhere to all NCAA, Western Athletic Conference and Utah Tech University rules and regulations.
