Summary Position
The Coordinator of Advancement Communications helps tell Elon University's story through multi-channel communications that engage and inspire support from alumni, parents and friends. The selected candidate will produce high-quality communications from initial concept to final product. This position will work closely with other departments within University Advancement and across campus to meet communication needs.

Education Requirements
Bachelors degree from four-year college or university. Elon graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Special Skills or Experience

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently while balancing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
• Knowledge of communication strategies, including social media and email marketing.
• Good judgment and strong attention to detail.

General Purpose of Position
The Coordinator of Advancement Communications helps tell Elon Universitys story through multi-channel communications that engage and inspire support from alumni, parents and friends. The selected candidate will produce high-quality communications from initial concept to final product. This position will work closely with other departments within University Advancement and across campus to meet communication needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages an editorial calendar that schedules a range of communications and implements the appropriate multi-channel approach, including social media and mass texting, for all messages.
• Produces, coordinates and sends mass emails and texts.
• Carefully prepares, writes, reviews and edits various communications-interviewing subjects, capturing stories, disseminating information, posting stories, managing quality assurance, etc.
• Manages, grows and enhances the Elon Alumni Social Media Ambassadors Program.
• Works as part of a team to plan and implement Elons day of giving communications strategy.
• Uses creative applications (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign etc.) to produce communications materials.
• Coordinates regular review and updates to the University Advancement websites.
• Trains and assists staff on use of the departments mass email platform and other communications platforms.
• Learns to compile and review constituent lists. This will require an understanding of database logic, spreadsheets and use of Raisers Edge.
• Helps coordinate mass mailings with key partners on and off campus (University Communications, mail houses, printers, etc.).
• Other duties as needed or required.
