Summary Position
The Coordinator of Advancement Communications will capture and create video content that drives digital engagement and philanthropy among Elon's alumni, parents and friends. Working closely with University Communications and taking direction from Advancement Communications, this person's work will help advance the fundraising and engagement goals set out in Elon's current strategic plan.

This position recruits, hires and supervises a student staff videographer.



Special Skills or Experience
Candidates should possess the ability to produce a variety of video styles including short-form, interview-style and more, in addition to:

• proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere),
• high attention to detail,
• and ability to meet deadlines while working in a highly collaborative environment.

General Purpose of Position
The Coordinator of Advancement Communications will capture and create video content that drives digital engagement and philanthropy among Elons alumni, parents and friends. Working closely with University Communications and taking direction from Advancement Communications, this persons work will help advance the fundraising and engagement goals set out in Elons current strategic plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Create meaningful short- and long-form videos for digital channels including social media, websites, mass email and more. Potential projects include student impact stories, Elon alumni and donor profiles, videos that support annual giving and fundraising initiatives of the university, videos for Elons award-winning day of giving, videos of university leadership, etc.:
  • Brainstorm and storyboard video projects in partnership with colleagues across campus.
  • Plan, set up, light, record and edit video projects, including interviews, events, programs, activities and b-roll.
  • Collect and analyze metrics to determine efficacy of videos and make strategic recommendations for future work.
  
  
  
• Maintain digital catalog of video content and completed projects.
• Oversee schedules and approval process for multiple projects to meet strict deadlines.
• Recruit, hire and supervise student staff videographer.
• Assist with goal setting and development of advancement communications priorities and operating plans.
• Support and staff events such as Homecoming, Family Weekend, etc.
• Enhance professional development through attendance at appropriate conferences and/or conversations with colleagues at other institutions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Three to five years professional/internship experience in communications and/or marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
