Description

The Communications Director will strategize and lead communication efforts for the department. This role will be responsible for producing informative, engaging, and brand-sensitive messages, including those for the department newsletter, website, social media, news releases, brochures, and electronic announcements.

The Communications Director will direct professional videos and photography while developing and overseeing production of branded materials for marketing and recruitment of residents, fellows, faculty, and others. They will represent the Department at events; assist with event management and work closely with the department Chair and Executive Administrator to development a team that will promote the academic mission and unique department culture. Oversee collection of data analytics for reporting purposes; ensure brand compliance and integration with campus protocols and initiatives.

Mentor, advise, and train team members. Serve as a liaison to UAB Heersink School of Medicine Communications, University Relations, and UAB Health System Marketing.

Salary Range: $60,835 - $98,855
